unable to find a jpeg library dependency to include.
At this point when I invoke gs I get
Unsatisfied code symbol 'jpeg_resync_to_restart' from /usr/lib/hpux32/dld.so
Can anyone suggest how I can resolve this ?
I probably need to resolve the jpeg dependency
but don't know where to get it.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Ghostscript trouble runnng on Itanium
Have installed the same on same machine and it works. Downloaded all from here inclusive the dependencies:
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/PostScript/ghostscript-8.55/
Don't forget to install the dependencies before the ghostscript.

Re: Ghostscript trouble runnng on Itanium
The nasty thing about the archive and porting website is the dependencies can have dependencies.
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/X11/Graphics/jpeg-6b/
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/X11/Graphics/libpng-1.2.16/
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Gnu/make-3.81/
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Misc/zlib-1.2.3/
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Misc/zlib-1.2.3/
All deps should be installed.
swremove the current ghost script.
swinstall it a anew.
Note also that any of these depots or their dependencies could be bad. The quality control on this site is not as good.
If any of these depots can be found in the Internet Express depot on http://software.hp.com go for it.
Lastly if you do discover one of these tools is bad you can go for a binary version, include it on the PATH and SHLIB_PATH and that should satisfy compile and run time requirements.
If there is an actual problem with Ghostscript, then downloading and compiling yourself can do the trick.
I doubt there is a problem with ghostscript due to the fact another post indicates they've gotten it to work on Itanium.
