Re: Glance

If your running gpm already on your PC then you must be running an X emulator (such as Exceed or Reflections ?). To run it from a different HP server you must first run the command; xhost + from the first HP server you run CDE/VUE into. Then you can rlogin to another HP server and do export DISPLAY= and run GUI's such as GPM, or SAM or XSTM etc.

eg. When you start your X emulator you connect to HP server called HP1. Once logged in start a dtterm or hpterm window and do the command; xhost +
Now you can rlogin to any other HP server and export your DISPLAY and run a GUI.

Re: Glance

Just need to do "export DISPLAY:0.0" on the server you want to open the other gpm.

good luck.

Re: Glance

Hi,

If you rlogin to another host your DISPLAY variable won't get set correctly. Just do what Pedro said on pointing the display variable to your PC then your problem should be fixed.

Re: Glance

There seem to be a typo error with Pedro's message as the equal sign was missed.

Correct syntax should be,

export DISPLAY=:0.0

Re: Glance

Minor point for us lazy folks.
export DISPLAY=:0.0
The last .0 is not needed unless you have multiple displays and need to specify .1, as the .0 is assumed.
