What will happen if a group gone(deleted) from group file and if it is a gid for some users.

Hi!
If you have deleted group with vi
from /etc/group, there is nothing will
happened. Your /etc/password will
keep working.

I've never tried it, but it should be simple enough to test: create a test user, assigned to a test group, then delete that group from the /etc/group file and try to log in as that user.

You should add the group back to your /etc/group file.
If you do an 'll' in the users home dir you will see the EUID. That means the number of the group. Take this number and use it for the rentry in the /etc/group file. Otherwise users who was member of the users group probably has no more rights on files from that user.
