Re: Half duplex to Full duplex
Find the /etc/rc.config.d/*conf file that corresponds to your NIC and change the entry to FD.
That should help,
Pete

Re: Half duplex to Full duplex
lanadmin -X 100FD ppa_number - will set to 100 full duplex
ppa_number you can reach from lanscan.
it doesn't require reboot.
permmament set is made in /etc/rc.config.d/hpetherconf or
hpbtlanconf
Allowed set for duplex mode are: 10HD,10FD,100HD,100FD
HD - half duplex
FD - full duplex
hope it help

SolutionPerhaps i should add a few words , it is not only suficient to look at the
/etc/rc.config.d/hp...conf
files and alter it to fixed vualues , the story involves both the HP SW settings as well as the settings in the switch/router itself , the rule is more complicated , in fact this is what you should look at , the mode the interface ports are on on the different devices :
HP9000 Switch
auto auto
100FD 100FD
this will work and result either in the speed set in the file or in the negotiated best speed
auto 100FD
100FD auto
this will fail as the negotiation process needs 2 systems negotiating , this generally results in 100HD connections
so check both the server to be fixed at 100FD with the hp...conf file and the switch by setting the port to a forced 100FD that way you are sure to always connect at 100FD

Re: Half duplex to Full duplex
One last thought - I'd stay away from auto-negotiate. Time and time again, this comes up in the forums and the general consensus is that auto-negotiate is problematic.
Do a search on "auto negotiate" +"full duplex".
Good luck,
Pete
