Hi,
Somebody can tell me, how i can send alert email from my host ids to my exchange server.

Do I need another product???, what is??

Hi David,

I think you are going to need to have a talk with the exchange admin. If the exchange server supports snmp ( it does) you should be able to configure sendmail to use the exchange server as a smart host. (DS record in sendmail.cf) if this exchange server only talks exchange prop M$ protocols you are in trouble.

If sendmail is configured you should be able to use elm, mailx utils to send alert e-mails.
