HP 11i v1 CD readable by 11i box but skips some dirs on 11.0 box
I have two sets (3 CDs each) of "Foundation Operating Environment".
On the 11.0 L3000 box, while doing a "cp -p -r . /destination", it gives a "cp: cannot open ./SOE/SOE.2/usr: No such file or directory" error (plus same error on three different directories). I did get the cp to work ONCE out of 15 - 20 attempts!
On the 11i L3000 box, same CD, same cp command copies, many times, with no errors.
I replaced the DVD drive on the 11.0 box but still have the error.
Any ideas?

Re: HP 11i v1 CD readable by 11i box but skips some dirs on 11.0 box
The first thing that I would look for are any CD-ROM, DVD, cdfs, and/or SCSI patches for 11.0. You haven't indicated whether or not you are trying to read 11.11 media on an 11.0 box.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: HP 11i v1 CD readable by 11i box but skips some dirs on 11.0 box
Thanks for the quick reply :-)
The CDs are (part number is B3920-14088) for installing or upgrading to B.11.11 so I would think they are 11.0 readable.
I first became aware of the problem when doing a UpdateUX using the disk that has the errors :-)
