HP 9000 backup

I have a HP 9000 and am looking to do backups over a WAN to a hard disk..Any suggestions on the command to do this..FBack only writes to tape...I might even look at backing up to disk locally if I am able to attach a SCSI based RAID to the 9000...thanks
There is always something to do

Re: HP 9000 backup

You should be able to use "fbackup" with the "-f :" option. An example would be:
fbackup -f 10.1.1.1:/dev/rmt/0m

And of course any other options you might want to add. Check out "man fbackup".
Those who play the game do not see it as clearly as those who watch.

Re: HP 9000 backup

Hi:

Since you are going over a WAN it is essential that you compress the data:

Something like this:
fbackup -c configfile -g graphfile -f - | compress -c | remsh remote_host uncompress - | dd of=/u02/myfackup.dat
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
