HP Dazel
HP Dazel is installed on 11.11i HP UX.. but it comes out with a PS configuration error, even
though the queue starts correctly, then the process status shows PS configuration error. the lp print ( normal command ) works perfectly.. this is happening when we are trying to print Adobe files, as and when a queue builds up... Normal print is fine... any idea what cud be the problem? what data is further needed ?

Re: HP Dazel
1. Create a backup of $DAZEL_HOME/bin/pdf2ps.pl file
# cp $ DAZEL_HOME/bin/pdf2ps.pl DAZEL_HOME/bin/pdf2ps.pl.old
2. Edit the file $DAZEL_HOME/bin/pdf2ps.pl and change
$gs_device from "pswrite" to "psmono"
result ?

Re: HP Dazel
I tried after editing the file as you mentioned.. but the error is the same, PS configuration error, job flushing.. the Printer is an HP 4100N, HP Jet direct is installed, would you like to know anything else?
HOw do I check whether PS drivers are installed? when i try printing a pdf file thru lp command, it says not possible, but at least it prints that much.. here no o/p to printer, in /etc/hosts entry is there for the N/w printer.. the same is shown as default destination, ined.conf and services hav the entries for rlp and rlpdaemon...Would you like to hav a copy of the error output?

Re: HP Dazel
HP Jet Direct is set on the server. I went thru the dazel log, it says failed to get mail program from namespace manager... nothing else... this problem was not there earlier I am told since I am new to this site.. it was working, and went dead after some n/w related problems caused the server to reboot, hence I am now worried as to whether there are any rc2 or rc3 related jet direct or PS driver initialisation files to be run.. since the error shown while looking at the Dazel server status says " PSconfiguration error, flushed "
