HP Printer question

We just bought a few HP laserjet 1200n printers for our company. They are installed on the network and i need to install them on our Unix box, HP9000 k220 running HPUX 10.20 Of course there is no driver to choose from when installing, and there is no unix driver on the HP website. Does anyone know which driver, if any, will work with this printer?

Re: HP Printer question

Hi Ted,

To configure a network printer conneted to the lan on an hp-ux server, you need to have the older Jetadmin or the newer Jetdirect. The older Jetadmin has been discontinued, but can be downloaded from the hp site.

ftp ftp.hp.com
username : anonymous
password : your_email_addres
bin
get HP10d621.SD (for 10.20)
get HP11d621.SD (for 11.0)
bye

These files are in sdinstall format and once installed you can use SAM to configure the network printer.

Hope this helps.

Re: HP Printer question

I have HP Jetdirect installed already. It asks you what printer you are installing, HP1200n is not on the list of available printers to install. My question is, can I install it as a LJ4 or "other" and get it to work?

Re: HP Printer question

Hi Ted,

Yes you can install the type that is available. You may not get all the features of the model of the printer you have. The feautures supported by the model of driver you are using should work.

Hope this helps.
