HP-UX on Itanium-based servers
Can anyone give me some advice or point me to the correct documentation on testing HP-UX on Itanium-based servers ?
I need to setup a test plan for HP-UX on Itanium. It's not the idea to test the functionality of HP-UX, but more precisely of HP-UX on Itanium-based servers. This test plan should include several areas like e.g. : os, storage, cluster, inter-operability with other os, backup, datbases, applications, ....
Any help is eternally appreciated.

Re: HP-UX on Itanium-based servers
Hi,
most of the thing you mention are tested by HP already. Your tech sales rep would be happy to tell you what will work together, (i.e. is supported by HP)
If it is not supported, you can of cours create your own tests, and find out some things, but it is hard to test all combinations, so that you can be sure it will be working.
More importantly , you won't get support from HP if you have an unsupported solution.

Re: HP-UX on Itanium-based servers
Hi,
If you want to test databases, applications etc. one thing is very important.
Is the application in native itanium code or PA-RISC code (is it compiled for HP-UX on itanium). PA-RISC code runs on itanium but will not give optimal performance.
