HP VISUALISE C3600 BOOT PROBLEMS
Our company receive a HP VISUALISE C3600 workstation running HP-UX operating system from our partners. They told us that the system use NIS/NIS+ autentication method.
When we try to boot the system we have the following error at
HP-UX Start-Up in Progress Status page:
......
Start NFS core subsystem [OK]
Start NIS+ server subsystem [OK]
Start NIS+ client subsystem [OK]
Start NIS server subsystem [OK]
Start NIS client subsystem [FAIL]
Start NFS client subsystem [wait\busy]
........
and the system hang up with the message:
. - An error has occured !
. - Refer to the file /etc/rc.log for more
information
What can I do to finish the boot process, to have acces to the system consoles so I can tune the system configuration ?
Thank you very much for your help and suggestions !!!

CTRL+ \ will give you a login prompt so that u can safely correct these and try a reboot !

Re: HP VISUALISE C3600 BOOT PROBLEMS
I think the workstation is not able to reach it's NIS domain server. Check /etc/rc.config.d/namesvrs.
Check /etc/exports , /etc/rc.config.d/nfsconf and /etc/hosts for NFS related errors.
