Re: HPUX installing problem on Integrity VM
Shell> map -r
do you get any fsx: entries like fs0: ?
Can you locate the hpux loader from there?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HPUX installing problem on Integrity VM
If you configured the disk as AVIO, you need to load the AVIO drivers into the guest.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HPUX installing problem on Integrity VM
The map command shows fs0 fs1 and some blk's.
How do I install AVIO in the guest?
The host has AVIO installed.
thanks

Re: HPUX installing problem on Integrity VM
Then locate the loader and try to boot.
fs0:>efi/hpux/hpux.efi
Install the guest AVIO during the initial install
GuestAVIOStor B.11.23.0712 HPVM Guest AVIO Storage Software
GuestAvioLan B.11.23.0712 HPVM Guest AVIO LAN Software
or configure the disk as "normal scsi" from the host and add the driver later.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HPUX installing problem on Integrity VM
#hpvmstatus -d -P vm
from the host, to check if you have avio configured,
if you have it configuredI would try to use the nomal scsi disk configuration, just to check.
On all the disk devices on that VM, for example
hpvmmodify -P vm -d disk:avio_stor:0,0,1:lv:/dev/vgdatos01/rlvvg00VM
hpvmmodify -P vm -a disk:scsi:0,0,1:lv:/dev/vgdatos01/rlvvg00VM

Re: HPUX installing problem on Integrity VM
[Virtual Machine Devices]
[Storage Interface Details]
disk:scsi:0,0,0:disk:/dev/rdsk/c2t0d4
dvd:scsi:0,0,1:file://hpvm/guest-images/hpux/11iv2/HPUXv2Dec07_cd1.iso
dvd:scsi:0,0,2:file://hpvm/guest-images/hpux/11iv2/HPUXv2Dec07_cd2.iso
[Network Interface Details]
network:lan:0,1,0xBE1E5B79EBD8:vswitch:vswitch1
network:lan:0,2,0xC6F74A1C1FAF:vswitch:vswitch0
[Misc Interface Details]
serial:com1::tty:console
Can you explain what the normal SCSI configuration is and what the change will do?
The disk above(disk:scsi:0,0,0:disk:/dev/rdsk/c2t0d4) is a SAN disk i created for the VM.
thanks

Re: HPUX installing problem on Integrity VM
If you have multiple pathes to your san disk and you have no multipathing software, if your configured path fails your guest has no disk anymore!
You are using "normal" scsi disk not AVIO currently.
Are you sure your installation went successfully?
I noticed you have 2 (!!) individual virtual DVD drives - but you need to use only 1 for both ISO files during installation.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HPUX installing problem on Integrity VM
As torsten says, check that you can access your disk, for example:
diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c2t0d4
And the normal configuration for the dvd, using isos is to use null instead of file, for example:
dvd:scsi:0,2,0:null:/var/opt/iso-images/
where all your isos are in /var/opt/iso-images/ directory.
the from the mp, you can use the IN command to insert and EJ to eject
