HPUX on Itanium

If we were to consider upgrading our rp7410 server to a rx76XX server do we have to purchase the HPUX lic again or does HP have some sort of transfer program/promotion for this.....Thanks for the help

Hi,

As long as you have a current SW support contract in place, that *should* cover it.
That is as long as it's not a T&M contract.

A right to use license comes with the hardware.

If you have a software contract there is no additional cost to Run HP-UX on Itanium. The License for HP-UX itself is not very expensive anyway.

So to clarify on the quote I an looking at for a new rx server I do not need B9429AC HPUX Itanium Findn OE LTU at $2,370 per CPU item since I already have HPUX they will give this to me free???....Thanks

Check with your HP sales rep. I wouldn't doubt but that they make you buy a license with each new machine now.
