Ignite Backup

I am new to HP-UX , my system (HP rp-5450) having HP-UX 11.0.
My system is not having Ignite-UX and I want to take backup through make_recovery.

Where can i get the ignite-ux product for my hp-ux 11.0 ?
I am having 6 CD pack , this will have ignite-ux ??

Re: Ignite Backup

Your Application CD set will have Ignite/UX as well as your existing system (unless someone specifically removed it). But the command is not make_recovery (which was obsoleted many years ago). The command is make_tape_recovery, specifically:

make_tape_recovery -I -v -x inc_entire=vg00 -a /dev/rmt/0mn

where /dev/rmt/0mn must be changed to match your tape drive.

Re: Ignite Backup

The latest versions of Ignite no longer support 11.00. So downloading the latest from the web sites listed here will not work for you.

As of the C.7.3.x release (September 2007) and later, support for 11.00 is dropped.

HP-UX install media has Ignite on it. Use a version older than above, you should be fine.

How can I check that application CD set OR HP-UX install media has ignite in it???

Re: Ignite Backup

You can pretty much assume that it is there.

To see it, mount the media and use 'swlist | grep -i ignite @ ' to see it.
