Ignite Errors

I'm creating a new ignite tape, currently getting this error once the ignite is completed.

50432+0 records in
50432+0 records out
* Complete writing boot LIF onto tape.
* /opt/ignite/data/scripts/make_sys_image -c n -d /dev/rmt/0mn -t n -s

/var/opt/ignite/recovery/2006-05-16,12:35/recovery.log -u -R -g
/var/opt/ignite/recovery/2006-05-16,12:35/flist -a 6361470

* Preparing to create a system archive.
NOTE: The following Ignite-UX-reserved files/directories should not
exist on this system. They indicate an incorrect exit from an
earlier Ignite-UX process, and should never be placed on the
system by a user. Therefore, the following files have been
removed from the system:

* Archiving contents of miaux07 via tar image to local device/dev/rmt/0mn.
* Creation of system archive complete.
NOTE: The following files are in the list of files that were on the
system, but they are no longer present. These files are not
included in the backup:
/configure3

WARNING: There was a problem with the list of files/directories to archive.
Input: /var/opt/ignite/recovery/2006-05-16,12:35/flist
The following line(s) had too few/incorrect entries:
Problem lines:
line: 1 120755 1147398109 17 0 NA 1 58 40000003
* Cleaning up old configuration file directories

Not sure how successful the ignite was. Is there any way a i can test the ignite tape ?

Thanks,
Ralph.

Re: Ignite Errors

The only real way to test an Ignite tape is to restore from it. In lieu of that, I would suggest re-running. Ignite started having problems with files being present that shouldn't be, but it removed them, then complained because they didn't exist any more.

I think re-running should end up clean.

Re: Ignite Errors

Shalom,

The file is not critical.

You should be able to recover without it.

Our policy at my last employer was just what Pete said: re-run and make it come out clean.

Re: Ignite Errors

Rafael,

The other day you posted a thread regarding Ignite (No rewind device), did the job completed succesfully?
If you run the make_tape_recovery again, the error message should be gone.

Re: Ignite Errors

Rafael,

These messages have no bearing on the success of your recovery tape, which will work perfectly. They have also been addressed with later versions of the ignite-ux software, which I would suggest you upgrade to as soon as possible. From memory I think these messages were coming out in hp-ux 11.00 with a version of ignite at 3-4.

If you upgrade they will disappear, or you can ignore them.

Kind regards,
