Everytime I try and boot the system back up from a backup tape i recieve this error:
WARN C7F2
IPL ERROR
BAD LIF MAGIC
I've already checked the inetd.conf file, that file is ok. I've also done the other steps that were mentioned in an FAQ. It still gives me the same error. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance..
Dimitri

Re: Ignite problem
I'm actually using a test server and the tape i am using is a backup tape of our original os. I've been able to boot it up from this tape before to run tests, it's the first time this has happened.
Thanks again

Re: Ignite problem
I think that if the configuration of your hard disk are different with other server from where you made a make_recovery tape you will not be able to restore and as I know your server should be HP-UX 9000 because the bellow use only the dat tapes and not DLT tapes
Hope it's help

Re: Ignite problem
I had similar problem some time ago and was able to get aroud it with another make_recovery tape or boot tape (to do net recovery from IUX server). I still do not know what the cause for this behavior was, system would boot from tape once or twice but not more. Have not seen it in a while thoiugh.
We use DDS1, DDS2 and DDS3 tape drives.
