Re: Ignite server creation
Check the following site for implementing an Ignite server :
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/IUX/
This contains all the info you need to know. Do keep in mind though that you may need additional 'helper' systems if you want to boot from you Ignite server from HPUX systems that are not on the same subnet as the Ignite server.
This means you need at least one HPUX 'helper' system on each subnet to be able to boot from an Ignite server.
Diskspace usage and configuration should be made clear in the Ignite docs.
Cheers,
Jan.

Re: Ignite server creation
Hi Mahesh,
You need the following minimum hardware configuration to create an Ignite-UX server that you can then use to ignite (or install) clients with HP-UX:
Computer â An HP 9000 (PA-RISC) or Integrity (Itanium-based) system running HP-UX 11.0 or 11i v1 or v2.
Source Device â Make sure that your system has an appropriate source (CD, DVD, DDS drive, or LAN card).
Disk Drive â An Ignite-UX server needs at least one hard drive with at least the following capacities (swinstall performs an analysis of disk space needed prior to installing the software):
Regards,
Siva.

Re: Ignite server creation
Generally, 2 GB or more for a usable system, 2.2 GB if on HP-UX 11.0 and 4 GB if on HP-UX 11i.
Ignite-UX is installed under the /opt/ignite directory. The data files Ignite-UX creates are placed under /var/opt/ignite/Rel_release. Ignite-UX installation requires a minimum of 105 MB and up to 250 MB of disk space when the full product is installed. Additionally, approximately 500 MB to 1 GB of disk space is needed for each version of HP-UX you intend to install onto clients and are installing on your Ignite-UX server. Additional space is needed under /var/opt/ignite for archive and software depot storage.
Regards,
Siva.
