Ignite version mismatch

Scenario: Ignite server on a PA_RISC 11.11 system and it is version C.06.109. Ignite client is an Itanium 11.23 system using C.06.115. Each time I attempt to do a make_net_recovery either from the client or the server I am getting a mismatch. The message says to down-date the 115 version on the itanium, or install the 115 version on the PA RISC.

First, I cannot find the 115 version.

Second, I thought re-installing the 109 version on the Itanium version is the way to go...does anyone see problems with handling the situation this way ???

thanks...Jay

Re: Ignite version mismatch

There is no 115 version for PA-RISC.

You could go back to the 109 version on Itanium.

Here is how i'd make the decision:

1) Is the message an error/stop? If so, go back to the 109 version on Itanium and wait for the 115 version on both platforms before installing.

2) If the error doesn't stop you from making and using make_net_recoveries then ignore it.

But wait:

Looks like the same version is available for all three platforms in one easy release. Wondering now how this version mismatch thing came to be.

Re: Ignite version mismatch

Hi Steven....that is the page I requested the download from. I chose the 11.11 only because it said that it would create the files necessary to do the 11.23 system. Instead, it gave me the mismatch. Sounds like the best bet is to go ahead and install 109 on the Itanium to get both to match until the 115 comes out, like you suggested...thanks.....Jay

Re: Ignite version mismatch

Yes Jay, thats What I'd do.

I would swremove Ignite from the Itanium box prior to isntalling the .109 release.

In the future when possible make sure there were not version issues prior to rolling out new Ignite releases.

Good Luck,
