impossible killing pid

Hello,
i have a process running in my system since Decemeber. The command of this pid is samx and I want to kill it but when I execute kill comand the process don't die. I try to execute it with all values for kill options. One example of that is:
root 12691 1 0 Dec 5 ? 0:02 /usr/sam/lbin/samx -C -p 7187 -s fs_sa_disk /usr/sam/lib/%L/fs.ui

How I can kill it?

The pid 7187 not exist in the system.

Best regards.

Re: impossible killing pid

Hi,

how about the pid 12691??

as on your example, the process ID of the samx is 12691.... not the 7187

GOOD LUCK!

Re: impossible killing pid

Hi,
Can you pls try
ps -elf|grep samx
and see what is the status of the process.
S,R,U if it is in uninterrutable sleep mode (more info man ps)then it can be killed you will have to reboot the system.
Else try kill -9
