Increasing /stand

Hi,

I would like to upgrade 11 to 11i, and I need to increase /stand.
Could I do this?

Thanks!
Carmen.

Re: Increasing /stand

Carmen,

Not as part of the upgrade. If you do a cold install of 11i, you, obviously, could adjust file system sizes during the process. During an upgrade you're stuck with the existing size so you would have to increase it either before or after the upgrade restoring from and Ignite make_tape_recovery backup.

Re: Increasing /stand

Hi,

I don't know who to create a contiguous swap lvol.

# lvlnboot -d /dev/vg00/swap
lvlnboot: Logical Volume "/dev/vg00/swap" must be contiguous

Could anyone help me?
Thanks!

Re: Increasing /stand

Hi,

lvcreate -L size -C y /dev/vgX

# lvcreate -L 500 -C y -n swap /dev/vg00
will create a contiguous logical volume size 500 MB with the name swap.

Re: Increasing /stand

Ignite is the best way to increase /stand.

There is a doc,

check the DOC ID Document id: VIKBRC00010528 at the Europe site.
the name of the doc is "Sys Adm: Using Ignite-UX to extend /stand or / filesystem"
