installing bar code printer to hpux

HI Everyone,
we have an hpux with SAP running on it. currently our SAP can be able to print barcode labels to other printers like hplaserjet, xerox, etc... these printers are installed in the hpux server as remote/network printers. users does the jobs/barcode in SAP, then prints it to the printers configured in hpux.

we have a datamax bar code printer installed (Datamax 4206 M-class Mark2) recently. However, when we install the datamax, we could not print barcode from SAP on it. every time a job is sent to the queue, it dies and nothing comes out in the printer. we wish to print the barcode labels from SAP thru this datamax printer, which we believe a driver or printer script issue. Any suggestions are highly welcome.

For direct printing to this printer from an HP-UX system, you need drivers for HP-UX.

HP is pretty good about providing those drivers. Other print makers, not so much.

You may be able to access this printers windows print queue remotely using the Samba client.
