Installing GNU software from HP Porting Archive

I've been attempting to follow the "Getting Started" directions at http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/starting.html, but can't get kickstart to install. The README states the script needs to be installed to run, but I can't locate directions to do so. Any ideas?

And will the fact that the binary is for HP 9.03 cause a problem with my 10.20 box?

Big enough differences between 9.03 and 10.20

Re: Installing GNU software from HP Porting Archive

Rick,

Do you mean that the 9.03 version absolutely won't run on the 10.20 box? The site's documentation tends to hint that it should. ["This release supports the optional creation of the /opt/hppd tree and also can be run on HP-UX 10 systems"]

However, it's the install part I'm having the most trouble with.

"Kickstart is a complex shell script that can be run any HP-UX system and will
check certain components of your system and inform you if anything is missing
or out-of-date that may be needed to build packages from our HP-UX public
domain archive.

For installation instructions, see HPUX.Install. Note that you have to install
kickstart before you can run it. Kickstart has been tested and worked on both
an HP-UX 9.03 and an HP-UX 10.01 system."

Where do I find info on "HPUX.Install"?

I figured it out - I had to run make on the utility - I'd thought I could skip that step since it was already compiled. Oops!
