We have two vPars created in a Superdome Npar.
Can I have different patch bundle installed in each vPars.
Precisely:
vPar1 - with Dec-04 hardware enablement patch bundle
vPar2 - with Dec-05 hardware enablement patch bundle
Thanks in advance
Manoj

SolutionIf the patch will install at all into a vPar this scheme should work. Every vpar needs hardware. I do wonder why one would not want the latest most stable HWE installed on any system vpar or not.

Re: Installing hardware enablement patch on vPars
You can have different versions of hardware bundle installed on different vpars on same npar. But why you want to have it differently?

Re: Installing hardware enablement patch on vPars
You can have 2 vpar's on 2 different patch level.
I'm thinking there is some reason bulit into this why you are doing this.

Re: Installing hardware enablement patch on vPars
Thanks for all your valued information.
I am planning to do patch update on both Vpars but in different dates. May be a month later on the second Vpar.
We are doing different application testing on these vPars. This application test will continue on the 2nd vPar for another month.
Simply we would not want to update patch before application test completes
I have got doubt because there are many vPar related patches included in the h/w patch bundle.
I have another doubt, do I need to restart 1st vPar in stand-alone mode to install hardware enablement patch?
Thanks & Regards
Manoj
