INTERMEC label printers

Hi all!

I am trying to set up an Intermec 440 label printer which is used for printing barcode labels.

Im not sure on how to set it up and which interface scripts to use.

Any experiences / advise on how to set these up would be appcreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Re: INTERMEC label printers

These printers ususally have internal printer adapter (axis) you have to configure this adapter.
You might have recieved some CD or floppy media that has unix install script called axinstall. You can configure printer for Unix server using this script. You should be having a queue name and printer name ready with IP address before proceeding.

Re: INTERMEC label printers

Hi,
I've got a similar problem with an old 3000A Model (so I don't know if this can help you).
It is connected to the RS232 interface of the machine. Then you can install it (eg. with SAM) as local printer, connected to the serial interface, then you have to select the model, usually they are in /usr/lib/lp/model I use this one (even in UX9.05 than in 10.20 on HP9000/7xx WS).
the device file I use is this:
crw-r--r-- 1 lp bin 1 0x000000 Sep 26 07:44 /dev/c0p0_lp

Re: INTERMEC label printers
