Ip issue

Hi
Regarding printer installation.

It askes ip : i have given but i am geting error

The error is

Enter the network printer name or IP address (q - quit): 101.101.228.150

!! No response from 101.101.228.150 !!
... (trying to ping 101.101.228.150)


The HP JetDirect Printer Installer for Unix can ping the device.
The problem may be:
* incorrect GET community name!
* it is not a network printer!
* other.

So please give me solution to solve this issue

You need to understand that "it is not a network printer" in HP-UX speak means that the printer does not support HP's JetDirect (port 9100) protocol. Does your printer support the port 9100 protocol? If not then you will need to set the printer up as a "Remote" printer (ie, one that supports the LPR/LPD protocol). "Remote" printers are setup using standard lpadmin commands (or SAM) rather than hppi.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
