Re: Itanium 11i question.

1) you cannot run 11.11 on an Integrity server

2) yes, 11.23 does run on L- and N-classes

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Itanium 11i question.

Torsten:

Does the nclass (to support 11iv2) depends on the model? I was told by an architect that certain earlier models of nclass does not support 11iv2, is this correct? Thanks for your help

Re: Itanium 11i question.

There typically is a requirement for updated FW versions of the hardware.

Read the release notes, which may direct you to the HW support matrix or look at the link below page 10 on rp7400(N4000) FW requirements.

Re: Itanium 11i question.

See

http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-1978/ch02s03.html

This lists the rp7400 (aka N4000).

Latest documents lists only the A3639C, but it should work on others too.

see

Hope this helps!

Re: Itanium 11i question.

Even 11iv2 is starting to age now, with the release of 11iv3. Might want to consider upgrading those older L's and N's to boxes on which 11iv3 is supported. Dending on the number of CPU's you have and the number of I/O cards and their type, perhaps rx2660's or rx3600's unless you want to do some consolidation, in which case perhaps rx6600, rx[78]640 or even a c7000 blade chassis with a mix of BL860C and BL870C blades.

If budget is an issue, then perhaps some things from the remanufactured/reseller market.
