Itanium-2 bootable dvd creation/use
Has anyone encountered a problem booting from a dvd created using dvd+rw-tools on an itanium system? It works fine on a PA-RISC system, but is not recognized as a boot disc when created on an itanium system. I already referenced the papers on docs.hp.com and made sure that all of the itanium only parameters were correct (lif image, etc).

Re: Itanium-2 bootable dvd creation/use
Shalom Daniel,
I've created bootable dvd's for PA-RISC and Itanium systmes (we have few) and had no problems.
I can't boot an Itanium off a boot dvd created for PA-RISC, nor would I expect to be able to do do this.
Can you share you creation method and error message?

Re: Itanium-2 bootable dvd creation/use
Shalom Steven,
I wrote and used the attached script. I wrote it for PA-RISC and used it a number of times. It always worked. I modified it for IA64 but it has never worked. It produces no errors during the execution. When I try to boot from the resultant dvd, it tells me there is not bootable media in the dvd reader. Maybe I missed something during the modification for IA64.
Thanks,
Daniel
