Re: JAVA Help
Not sure what they mean be 5.3 - could that be a M$ version?
Anyway, the available Java versions for HP-UX are
1.2 1.3 & 1.4 being the most current.
They're all free & generally install into
/opt/java1.2
/opt/java1.3
/opt/java1.4
respectively. So you can have multiple versions on the system.
Rgds,
Jeff

Re: JAVA Help
Pete sent you to the right place. The Java software is a free download there. We have to grab the latest version and install it pretty often for some of our Oracle apps. It's free and it doesn't require a reboot, so it is pretty painless.
As for the Release 5.3, I'm not sure what your apps admin is referring to, as the Java versions on the HP site go 1.3.X, 1.4.X, etc.

Re: JAVA Help
Java 5.3? Searching... I'm guessing your screamer is talking about HSj 5.3(http://www.handle.net) which requires Java 1.4.
