JAVA PROBLEM
I have installed CiscoWorks 2000 on an L calss and after a lot of work, it is running fine. However, I installed netscape 6.01 on the L to connect to the web server running locally. When I go to Cisco web server everything looks fine except the login are which is grayed out. I get the message " This page contains information of a type (application/x-Java-VM) that can only be viewed with the appropriate plugin. I loaded jpi_131, but no help. Any idea what the appropriate plug in would be?
Thanks,
Bob Menefee

Re: JAVA PROBLEM
gethostbyname errors are generated if your system is unable to do a hostname and ip resolution. Do a nslookup and check whether your hostname and ip's are resolved correctly. Are you using DNS ?.
nslookup
>System_name
>system_ip
>exit
Hope this helps.

Re: JAVA PROBLEM
DNS knows who I am. Resolve does not seem to be an issue. I hate to leave a problem unsolved. I'm novice with web/java. Not sure how to configure. I was hoping the problem would vanish like the Taliban. Not sure where to go now. I do appreciate your help. DNS looks OK.

Re: JAVA PROBLEM
I'm sorry, but i'm also a novice as far as java/web are concerned. I have netscape on my servers but don't have any plugins configured on them. I'll try to do some test and will post a reply if i can come across something useful for you. Meanwhile i'm sure some other forum member will be in a position to help you.
