Java Virtual Machine.

I am trying to install the Job Scheduling Console for Maestro (Tivoli Workload Scheduler)on my HP 700 wkstn with 10.20.I installed the JRE 1.1.8 using swinstall.When I try to install the JSC it gives me a mesg VM not running. Can someone tell me the correct way to install java on HP-UX 10.20
