Jetadmin (hppi) question...

So we have a veritable horde of printers that are set up on our production server (rp4440, 11v1 patched). I've run into a problem adding an HP Color LaserJet 2600n (internal jetdirect hooked into the network) as everytime I go into hppi to add this printer, it gives an error.

1: I can ping the IP address (10.127.91.12) from the command prompt.
2: I've manually set the printer's network information to the atypical static IP (above), gateway (10.127.91.1), netmask (ffffff00), etc.
3: I've confirmed printing from Window applications works as well as print screens in Windows.

In hppi, the error messages I get are as follows:

IP address given instead of name ->
!! 10.127.91.12 is NOT an acceptable name!!
Either it is NOT a network printer or this host
is denied access to it!

Printer name given instead of IP ->
!! hgvlsup is NOT an acceptable name!!
Either it is NOT a network printer or this host
is denied access to it!

Any ideas would be greatly welcome. Thanks in advance!

Can you add from the command line?

addqueue -i 9998 -q HGVLSUP -h hgvlsup.yourdomain.com

Can you connect with hpnpadmin?

hpnpadmin -v hgvlsup
