kermit

This should be close:
kermit
set line /dev/ttyd0p7
set speed 19200 (or 9600)

You then can try 2 different approaches
set modem hayes (kermit is old so not that many modem types are defined)
DIAL 5551212

OR

connect
ATDT5551212

was a previous response to why a modem will not initalize when using kermit, I have done the above in my script yet it still not initalizing.
It works other wise just not in the kermit script.

Re: kermit

Have you tried issuing an ATQ0?

Re: kermit

Eric

The port your using looks like the normal predictive port !! - are you trying to use the predictive modem - if so speed is too high.

Also once connected in kermit try an AT command.

Re: kermit

Hi,

When your are in Kermit , if you type 'at'
you should be getting OK prompt that means your modem is responding.
if you are using hayes modem at&v should give the modem configuration list.
try atq0 and then dial with atdt followed by number

Good Luck..

Re: kermit

Hi Eric:

Chances are that the port (the set line command) are wrong. That will be specific to your particular platform.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
