Kernel Parameter 10.20 D370
I have some D370/600BM-1GM memory, running with 10.20 and Ingres.
How I must tune the Kernel-Paramerers for the best result?
Please let me know what can i do.
Thanks Peter

Re: Kernel Parameter 10.20 D370
I would start looking at my system with Glance. A trial version is available for free for 30-days on the Application CDs if you haven't licensed it [I absolutely would!]. Glance has built-in help. You can read about the metrics you are viewing as you view them. Start at the top, looking at CPU, memory and swap usage.
Performance and tuning is both science and art. Search this forum for 'performance' and 'kernel' and 'memory' as keywords.

Re: Kernel Parameter 10.20 D370
at first time set max_pct as 10 ( 1GB/10= 100Mb of cache).
If you are using hfs file systems you must increase ninode for example to 40000. A low value for this parameter is cause of poor performance.
