Kernel Parameters set for Oracle 10g installation

Hi,

As per the Oracle 10g installation guide, the kernel parameters are set to the recommended values.

Now when I run the validate.pl script to verify if the prerequisites are passed, I found all the kernel parameters as undef.

How to proceed with?

Please advice.

Re: Kernel Parameters set for Oracle 10g installation

Shalom,

All kernel parameters will be set, the problem is your values may not meet oracle minimums.

So you run the validation script and use sam to adjust the parameters and build a new kernel and boot the box.

Pretty straightforward.

Meeting the minimums helps you install. Then comes the task of getting good performance after installation.
