kernel tuning
Does anyone know if the hpux_aes_overide parameter is still required in HP-UX11.00. I thought this was strictly a 10.20 issue? Thanks.

Re: kernel tuning
Hi,
This value is part of the OSF/AES compliance.
When set this parameter allowed different actions which were not allowed before on for instance directory creation on automounted directories, set permissions on symbolic links.
This parameter was only used on 10.x and older HP-UX machines where chmod checked this value to see if changing permissions on symbolic link was allowed.
If you see the message :
mkdir: cannot create /cad/monk: Read-only file system.
When creating monk on an automounted filesystem 'cad' then it would be best to set this parameter.

Re: kernel tuning
I can't answer if it is required, but it still exists in the kernel at 11i. And the default has it set to 0.
