kill sleep process

hi all

how can i kill a sleep process invoked from oracle?, i tried kill -9 but is not good.

If kill -9 didn't do it, then the process must be waiting on I/O and won't be signallable (killable) until the I/O completes. I'm afraid there's no way to do it without cycling your Oracle instance or re-booting unless you can figure out how to satisfy that I/O request.
