LAN Console

LAN Console

I am setting up the LAN console on an L Class system. I am running the "lc" command to change the LAN config. When I enter my new IP and hit return. It tells me that is not a valid IP. Is there a mode that the GSP can be in that would keep me from entering a new IP address?

Re: LAN Console

Hi,
I didnt have to configure this while setting up my systems. But that might be, coz they came in preconfigured.
However, you might find the following doc on the ITRC useful : MJFKBRC00004856

Thanks,

Re: LAN Console

This is not Web console. It is LAN console. I was able to use the GSP backdoor and enter the ip myself. I think I was having some entry problems with remote help.

Thanks,

Re: LAN Console

If you have administrator password of GSP with lc configure lan console and with ls see the status.

Re: LAN Console

follow this steps, it should work:
1. Connect console to the server.
2. press ctrl+B to get into GSP mode
3. At the GSP prompt, type LC
4. It shows current config and prompts whether u need to change. Type y or yes
5. It shows the current IP address and asks whether u need to change..type yes
6. type in the new address..

Follow the same for broadcast address, GSP HOstname and default gateway. And then save config.

U can type HE for help or LI for list for more details on the GSP commands.

Please let me know if this helps or tell me the exact error message you get..
