LAN details

Hi friends ,

I m new in HP-UX . I have typed command ioscan -fnC lan . Its shows the output as follows....
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
===================================================================
lan 0 0/0/0/0 btlan CLAIMED INTERFACE HP PCI 10/100Base-TX Core
/dev/diag/lan0 /dev/ether0 /dev/lan0

Now i m confused ...what is btlan and igelan


Can anybody help me ...regaring the output

Shalom Mridul,

btlan is generally 100 BaseT technology.

igelan is faster Gigabit 1000 BaseT technology.

Thats the most simple answer.

btlan and igelan are the drivers for the cards. btlan for your 10/100 TX cards (copper) and igelan for your 1000 SX cards.
