is there a different between the 2 files ?
anyhow, I edit the rc.config/hpbase100conf so that the lan has 100 as speed and duplex ..
how can view this change through lanadmin ??
and is this syntax right ?
hp_base100_duplex[0]=FD
Thanks

Re: lan full vs half duplex
Should be as follows:
HP_BASE100_SPEED=100
HP_BASE100_DUPLEX=FULL
But I think you can also do the following:
HP_BASE100_SPEED=100FD
and kill 2 birds with one stone.
Rgds,
Jeff

Re: lan full vs half duplex
That would be:
hpbasetconf
and it's setting would be:
HP_BASET_SPEED=100FD
HTH,
Jeff

Re: lan full vs half duplex
You can tell by running ioscan -fnClan
If you use this file, set
HP_BASET_DUPLEX[0]=FULL

Re: lan full vs half duplex
If you follow that advice and still get half duplex you need to follow check the patches rule.
I recently discovered that in spite of being fully current on Security patches...
In spite of having every Quality pack up to September 2002 installed,
In spite of dozens of special patches to deal with special issues with oracle...
That I had java 1.3 installed and was missing more than half the recommneded/required patches for java.
Ooops! A most embarassing moment.
Final advice on patching, whatever the reason:
Never, Never, Never try and reinstall the LITS(Line in the Sand) Patch. Not unless you don't like sleeping.
You fill find many patch bundles you build on the itrc patch site will include PHKL_18543 as a dependency.
Use this install command to avoid trouble.
swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x reinstall=false -s /location of patch depot.
That's reinstall=false. A real time saver.
