Lan1 on L200 problem (+)
Hell everybody,
the configuration is the following:
L2000 with HPUX 11. There is an X-server (Go-Global server) and multiple clients connecting from PC (Go-Global client) to it via lan1. Traffic is quite heavy between server and PC clients. 2 or 3 times in a week it happens that lan1 is completely stack, users are disconnected and no ping is possible for lan1. The only workaround is to unplug and plug cable from lan1. Does anyone know maybe there is a patch which solves such problem?
Many thanks in advance,
Andrey

Re: Lan1 on L200 problem (+)
Hi Andrey,
You can determine the traffic from using "netstat -s" at the TCP:
if retransmit is more that 10% of the total out you have an extreem network traffic.
Second, you have a big chance that whenever the networkload is too high, at the server side or the switch the negotiate gives a problem. As a result the port gets disabled at the side of the switch. When unplugging the cable and re-plugging, the switch-port gets a kind of reset. This makes the server available again.
Most of all you should turn off auto negotiate at the switch side, and fixed to f.e. 100_FDx. Do this also at the server side and your problems are most of all solved. It is very important to work together with the Network engineer!!

Re: Lan1 on L200 problem (+)
Hi Andrey
could you make autonegptiation OFF and full duplex on lan1.
sam--> network & communication --> network interface card --> action, modify.
