Latest sendmail version - new feature.

I was told that with the latest sendmail version, the ability to send mail requires the sendmail daemon to be running. Apparently with the earlier versions it was not required. Can someone clarify.

I can confirm that it was not necessary in earlier version, but I have yet to find confirmation for latest version.

Thanks..i Know it need to run as a daemon to send mail earlier..But it looks like from 8.14... etc it is..I will still wait for the confirmation though..
