ldap problem
We were using Iplanet DS 5.1 for users mgmt.
O.S is not able to recognize a group created in ldap when I tried chown command to assign the group to a file. The error msg we receive is " Unkown group id ". Earlier it was very well recognized. Now those files are showing group id instead of group name when I use ll command. The group parameter /etc/nsswitch.conf is set as "files ldap". Immediate help will be highly rewarded.

No limit to learning.

From OS, do
nsquery group "group_name"
Post the results.
Does it resolve the group_name?? IT will also show what exaclt it is using for group resolution.
