linkloop fails

Hi Team:

we have 2 N-Class servers with lan0(hardwired and to be used as a heartbeat for MC/SG)and lan1 thru lan5 (fast Ethernet). when i do the linkloop from..
Server A
linkloop -i 1
it works OK. But fails when..
linkloop -i 1
and it happens for all NIC's except lan0.Service guard is not setup now. ioscan -fnC lan says claimed. lanscan says all UP. I have a file /etc/rc.config.d/hppci100conf
and the contents are as follows..
HP_PCI100_INTERFACE_NAME[0]=lan1
HP_PCI100_STATION_ADDRESS[0]=
HP_PCI100_SPEED[0]=100FD.
i have lan0 and lan1 defined in netconf.Please help.How can all the interfaces fail?
