loading framebuf driver into the kernel

Hi all. I'm trying to load the framebuf driver into my system's kernel, and i'm not having any success at this. I have a D370 server, with an A4450A card plugged into the HSC turbo slot. This hardware path is 10/12, but it is not showing up in my ioscan output. I understand I do need to add this driver into the kernel before my sys does report 10/12 in the ioscan, but I can't figure out how to get this done. I've gone through the forums to try and figure it out...but to no avail.

I do know that the major number is 174 and minor is 0x000000. Now I have attempted to use mknod, but it is not creating the device file for me. Any thoughts?
