Loading J5000 with Ignite Server

I am having problems loading a J5000 From an Ignite-UX Server. I have version 4.1.61. I took an image using the make_sys_image command from a J5000 that I had loaded with 11.0 from CD. I do this with a lot of different systems, and have no problem with the Ignite install. The J5000, however, I get a bad IPL checksum error on reboot. I looked at the IGNITE-UX Admin Guide and it said something about firmware. I have 5.0 on the client machines. It also said to use a version of IGNITE newer than 2.0 A/B. I have done that also. Does anyone know how to solve my problem?

Re: Loading J5000 with Ignite Server

There is a 4.2 version out on Ignite, at least if another itrc poster who complained about it is right.

Some things I do myself, some things I let others do. If your system needs a firmware update, have HP hardware come in and do it. Combine it with some other work, so the $250 trip charge and two hour minimum at $250 an hour is worth it.

If you have a service contract, you just cost justified this months payment.

Hello ,
I think that the problem is patch level .

Check for new /old ignite patches and install them , make again an ignite image and try again .

Re: Loading J5000 with Ignite Server

I know that the 4.2 version of Ignite-UX is on the March 2003 APplications CD. Is there anywhere on the HP web site I can download it? I can only find 4.1.61.

I agree, Thomas. I even downloaded to see what I would actually get and it's still 4.1.61. Curious!
