logging problem

there is a user account in hp-ux system, when he log himself, there an error.
see below:

Unable to change directory to "/home/jules"
Logging in with home = "/".

check that the directory /home/jules exist or not.

also check the /home file system has enough space available.

Is there a home directory for jules and does this directory have the correct permissions?

# ll /home/jules

Hi Kacou,

You need to check how this user was setup. As stated above make sure that the /home directory does exist for this user.

This can occur if your home directory is over NFS and the server is down but somehow NIS is still working.
