Re: Login problem

Hi,

See the binary
/bin/login and /usr/bin/paaswd:
Should be like:
-rwsr-xr-x
Also the file should be own by root and group bin

Re: Login problem

If you are in single user mode, you should not need to login. On console you should be at a root prompt when the system comes up in single user mode.

reboot system,
press a key to stop boot when prompted
bo pri
answer yes to the interact question
hpux -is

That should put you in single user mode.
At which time you will need to mount /usr so you can change the permissions of

/usr/bin/login and /usr/bin/passwd

If in single user mode you cannot get a prompt then you will need to boot a recovery shell from a cd/dvd.
