lost a vg

Hi
Can anyone help me resolv this problem:
On one controller i have 2 disks
named: vgo1 and vgbackup
because off using a tape backup from another identicial workstation but with different scsi controller I cannt access vgbackup ( disk #2 )
the configuration seams to hold the other controller still

do i modify FTAB or is there other wayes
I have tryet to use LVM but i cannt put the vgbackup in place

Re: lost a vg

This sounds like a SCSI ID conflict but it's not clear. Please post the output of ioscan -fn and the output of "strings /etc/lvmtab" and those data should let the computer itself tell us what is wrong.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Peter --

Is this an fbackup tape or an ignite tape of some sort ?

Re: lost a vg

fbackup doesn't care where the controller is since it works at the filesystem level.

If you are replacing a disk drive for that disk, you need to rebuild the LVM information and the FS information as well.
