I'm not running the daemon.
Its safe to say the daemon is running on your system.
try this command:
enable 2d3a
Post the error, but we've reached very close to my limit of lp commands 'cause in real life I never used them. I only studied them to pass cert exam.

SolutionThink you have a corrupted printer file, this is what i did.
start SAM, printers and plotters, lp spooler , spooler configuration ---- save spooler configuration and direct after that restore spooler configuration.
