LVM error

I have a new EVA4100 with new disks that I am trying to create volume groups on. I have been getting this error "writing LVM record: I/O error" when trying to do a pvcreate with two volume groups. Both of the volume groups have 3 146G drives configured in a LUN. I am able to do a diskinfo and a dd to this device. Do I have a hardware problem?

Thank you for any help that you can give me.

Re: LVM error

... and check the presentation mode is set to hp-ux, not windows ;-)

Hope this helps!

Re: LVM error

In command view the presentation is HP-UX. Where would I look to find if these luns are write protected?

hi ;
You can find it from VDisk properties under Command View EVA

Re: LVM error

These two luns were created as read only. I have changed them to read/write and I am now able to create my volume groups.

Thank you for you help.
